Fiercely Inclusive

Accessibility Statement

Our goal is to make Sacred Harp in New Mexico accessible to all who would enjoy the tradition.  Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs that we currently do not meet, and we will do our best to make our sessions accessible for you.

Generally, we appreciate if singers wear unscented lotions, deodorants, and low/no perfumes to help make the space more accessible for everyone.  This is our preference, though we cannot guarantee our sessions are scent-free.

While our sessions no longer require COVID testing or masking, we ask that you not come if you are under the weather or know you have had a recent COVID exposure.

Please feel free to make your own adjustments in order to make our sessions feel more accessible to you.

This may include:

  • Singing in a mask

  • Wearing ear plugs or headphones (we are LOUD)

  • Taking breaks

  • Leaving early or coming late

  • Moving as needed

  • Singing standing up

  • Not participating in socialization

  • Listening as needed

  • Asking for additional assistance during the session

We have also worked to create a website that meets accessibility standards.
